About me
My name is Warren Read and I write this blog from my home office is Mandurah, a small town just south of Perth in sunny Western Australia.
My qualifications are a little eclectic with a Bachelor of Physical Education, a Graduate Diploma of Education, a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in IT. Not sure what that makes me other than a little confused!
I have worked in a number of roles, mostly human resources and organisation performance related, for a range of organisations; big multinationals (Alcoa, Woodside Offshore Petroleum, Motorola), government agencies (The UK Department for International Development, Scottish Environmental Protection Agency) and small to medium size enterprises. But along the way I have also been a stockman, a personal trainer, a gym instructor, Basketball Development Officer for Glasgow City Council….oh and an air steward!:-)
However in the last fifteen years my work has mainly been consultancy based and focused on developing capabilities within the organisations I have consulted to.
Now, as a lecturer in the Business School of a Western Australian university, I am involved in developing the human resource and leadership capabilities of the next generation of leaders.
