We’re having an election!
So it’s finally happened…the Australian election has been called. Now we’ll get to see some leadership in action…maybe! 
It’ll be interesting to see how much real leadership comes out from either side…or how often leadership is put aside in the name of political expediency. I’ll be keeping an eye out!

Julia Gillard has no choice but to get a clear peoples’ mandate. We all see the deep mess Thai Abhisit’s administration is trying to solve.

I think you are spot on…and all indications are that she is aware of that. She has declined to move into the Prime Ministers residence until she has been elected in her own right….which suggests she thinks does indeed need a mandate for her own Prime Ministership
